This past Tuesday, we discussed some questions regarding the administration of tests. Please note that it is important to follow the schedule as set out by Saxon, and that means that a test should only be administer after a student has completed the designated number of lessons. The purpose is to allow the student to have a sufficient amount of practice with certain concepts before administering a test. So, for example, if the schedule says to administer a test after Lesson 36, it would be important to wait until the student has completed the lesson and corrected the problems before administering the test. Parents, if you have any questions about testing, please feel free to give me a call.
Due to some of the questions, we did not finish two lessons for the week. We finished Lesson 38, but we were only able to start Lesson 39 before we ran out of time. Lesson 38 covered permutations, and more rate problems, as we discussed how to figure overall average rates. We will cover Lessons 39 and 40 this week. Test #9 should be administered after your student has finished Lesson 40 and their work has been corrected for that lesson.
I pray blessings over your day today! If you have any questions, please call or email me.
